The Pop Art Evolution

We are sure that you have noticed more and more recently the acceleration that Pop Art is gaining and its transition into the mainstream of the art world.

There is no doubt that pop culture is a central part of our lives – we meet it in movies, music, series, comics and also in the business and marketing worlds.

Because Pop Art is actually the artistic language of this culture, and represents a common tendency of artists in a certain creative direction that reflects the characteristics of modern and contemporary society.

Pop Art is a movement in modern art that began in the mid-1950s in England, from where it spread all over the world and became one of the main styles in modern art that we know today.

For inspiration, Pop Art artists turned to popular culture and adopted the imagery and designs of the advertising messages that swept the West in the post-World War II era.

This trend of course does not miss the art that we display in our home, when the classical art that used to decorate the walls of our homes (who has not at least once come across Matisse’s “Dance” painting)

Alternates with art in the style of the poster of our favorite movie (Pulp Fiction!) or parts of the comics we grew up with.

The ability of this art to combine decoration, prominence, innovation and identification is actually the highlight of this movement, while of course making art and awareness of it accessible through relatively cheap prices, in contrast to classical art which is less accessible to the general public.
